Auto Grouping
This will allow you to define the settings to automatically add clients under desired sub groups. The administrator will have to Add Groups and also add client criteria under these groups based on host/host name with wild card/IP address/ IP range.
Advantages of Auto Grouping
- On Auto Grouping, the clients will be automatically added to the specified managed groups.
- The clients can be added or removed from Auto Grouping with ease.

How to configure Auto Grouping?
- Enter the group name and click Add.
- Enter the client criteria and click Add, you can add host names, host names with wildcard; IP address and IP address range.
Groups Client Criteria Group A Host names (Comp101, Comp201) Group B Host names with wild card (Comp1*) Group C IP Addresses (162.0.31.1, 162.0.55.6, 163.1.70.10) Group D IP Address range (162.15.30-162.15.82)
- Click Save. This will Save the settings and the Run button will be enabled.
- Click Run to start the auto grouping process, this will move the client systems to the desired groups.
- Enter the client criteria such as host name, host name with wild card, IP address and also by IP range.
- The clients added to this list will be excluded from auto adding under Managed Groups.
For example:
The above example displays the Groups and the client criteria for Auto Grouping into the desired group.
A new window will pop up displaying the Auto Grouping process. Close the window once the Auto Grouping process is finished.
