Privacy Control

Contents

Description

Privacy Control protects your private information from various threats by deleting all temporarily stored information.

Status in main Protection Center Window

The green colored Tick mark indicates the Privacy Control is enabled and process has been scheduled.

The red colored Cross mark indicates the Privacy Control is disabled.


Configuration section

Status
Privacy Control Status - This will display the status of the Privacy Control in Manual or Scheduled mode.
Next Scheduled Cleanup – This will display the scheduled time the Privacy Control will run.
Clear Now button – Clicking on Clear Now button will instantly clean the selected Options under Browser Clean up. By default, this option is disabled. To make it enable either you need to click on settings and select one of the below mentioned object and close that window.
Settings button – To configure the Privacy Control click on the Settings button.


Browser Cleanup (General Tab)
Browser cleanup is the part of Privacy control which holds the configuration details. It helps to clear all the unwanted files created on the system when browsing the internet as well as files created by other installed software.
I. Scheduler Options Section
Here it can be scheduled to run the Privacy Control automatically at a particular time.
  • Run at System Startup –This will enable and auto executes the Privacy Control at system startup / boot and shall perform the desired auto-erase functions.
  • Run Everyday at –This will enable and auto-execute the Privacy Control at the time specified and shall perform the desired auto-erase functions.

This section contains various options.
(a) Clear Auto-Complete Memory – Auto-Complete Memory refers to the suggests matches as you type text in the Address toolbar in Internet Explorer or in the Run Dialog box accessed from the Start Menu or open dialog box accessed from the File Menu in Internet Explorer or Forms (including user names and passwords on forms) on Web pages. Other Tabs in Browser Cleanup
a. Browsers – This will display information’s of the installed internet browsers.
b. Cache – This will display the list of files stored in the "Temporary Internet Files" folders.
c. Cookies – This will display the list of cookies installed in the system.
d. ActiveX - This will display the list of ActiveX installed in the system.
e. PlugIns - This will display the list of PlugIns installed in the system.
f. History – This will display the history of the visited websites.
g. Files and Folders – In this section, the files / folders can be selected and added which is required to be cleared or deleted at the scheduled time. This action will occur when Clear Files & Folder is selected in the Auto Erase Options.

Statistics
  • Last Cleaned on – This will display the date and time of the activity of the Privacy Control last occurred.
