Description
Scan files, folders and all storage devices for threats and irritants in the form of viruses, spyware and other malicious objects.
Type of Scanning
- Scan Memory, Registry, Services and System Folders - Double clicking on this option will scan the system’s memory, registry and services that load at system startup (bootup) and System Folders for any infection from malwares.
- Scan Spyware and Adware - Double clicking on this option will check the system’s for any Spyware and Adware.
- Scan Local Drives - Double clicking on this option will scan all the local hard drives for any viruses or any other malwares.
- Scan USB Drives – Double clicking on this option will scan the USB drives for any viruses or any other malwares.
- Scan CD-ROM – Double clicking on this option will scan the CD-ROM for any viruses or any other malwares.
- Custom Scan – Double clicking on this option will help the users to select multiple options of scanning type, inorder to perform the selected types to scan together. This also provides the option to select directories or files to be scanned.

- Start – Clicking on this button will execute / perform the selected function of scanning.
Settings section
- Options- Configuring on-demand scan operation.
- Virus Check tab
- In case of an infection – Action to be taken in case of an infection, detected during on-demand scanning, can be selected from the drop down box. The options are:
- Log only - This will only scan and report about infection (no action will be taken).
- Delete infected file – This will scan and delete the infected file.
- Automatic (default) - This will scan and take the necessary action (i.e. the infected file will be either renamed or disinfected or deletd).
- Priority of scanner – This determines the priority of the scanning process along with the other processes running in Windows operating system. The options can be selected are High / Normal / Low priority.
- File types – This will determine the type of File to be scanned by on-demand scanner. The options are:
- Automatic type recognition – This will scan only program / executable files.
- All files – This will scan all files in the system.

- Scheduler– Configure schedule On-Demand Scan (ODS) to scan system and decisive areas for infection and malware objects.
- To add / schedule a task of ODS, click on the Add task button. In the add new task window, there are Job, Analysis extent, Schedule and Virus check tabs.
- Job tab– Specify the name for the ODS task.
- The check on the Active box enables the particular task and to disable it uncheck the Active box.
- Selecting the Start Type options will either begins the ODS in foreground or in back ground (miminmised on the taskbar).
- The selected Quit options will take place after the ODS completes the scanning. For eg. When Quit type is "Always quit", ODS window will close down after finishing the scanning.
- Analysis extent tab– Here you can select the type of scanning and the directories or folders or local hard drives to be scanned. Like Scan Spyware and Adware, Scan Startup, Scan Memory, Registry, Services and System Folders and Scan local hard drives. To scan a particular directories or files click on the (…) button to browse and select the required objects.
- Schedule tab– Here you can configure the time of the ODS to be executed.
- Virus check– This is same as the Virus Check tab in the Options of Scan.
- Buttons
- Refresh – Clicking on this button will Refresh the task manager.
- Clear All – Clicking on this button will delete all the task listed.
- Add task – To add a new task click on this button.
- Start now – Clicking on this button will start the selected task of ODS.
- Edit – To modify / change the task click on this button.
