Q. eScan Monitor/firewall notification not getting updated in Windows Security center if WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) database is corrupted.

Solution:

In order to repair WMI which places the eScan Monitor and firewall status in the Windows Security Center, Please use the following procedure

  • Open an elevated command prompt
  • Use the winmgmt.exe to check the consistency of WMI database using the command "winmgmt /verifyrepository". It will verify if there's any inconsistency with the database.
  • If the need arises use command "winmgmt /salvagerepository" to repair it.


Note:The above procedure only works on Windows Vista and above
