Q. Firefox.exe not executing while double clicking on firefox.exe. But if we rename executable file from firefox.exe to firefox1.exe. Then it executes and working fine.

Solution

  • Go to start > run and type regedit and press enter
  • Then go to following registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\firefox.exe

Expand the firefox.exe key value and remove the below mentioned value as Debugger

    *"Debugger"="\"C:\\WINDOWS\\twunk_16.exe\""*
  • Once done close registry editor and then execute firefox.exe again, it should now work.
