Managing User Roles
The User Roles menu enables you to create roles for various types of user. After creating a role, you can assign permissions for accessing menu for users and managed computers group.
You can do the following activities:

Creating a Role
Perform the following steps to create a role.
- On the User Roles screen, Click the New Role button. The New Role screen appears.
- In the New Role Name field, type the role name.
- In the Description field, type the role description.
- Select the appropriate managed computers folder, which you want to add to the Client Tree Menu tab for assigning permissions.
- Click the Ok button. The new role gets created.
Assigning Access to Menus
The User Roles enables you to configure settings for accessing menus. You can assign permissions for accessing menu for users and managed computers group.
To assign access to menus
- On the User Roles screen, Select an appropriate role name check box, and then click the Properties button. The Properties screen appears.
- Under Role Details section, specify the following field details:
- The New Role Name field appears dimmed, you cannot modify the role name once it is created.
- If you want you can modify the role description, in the Description field.
- Click the Select Group Tree button, if you want to select the managed computers folder for adding it to the Client Tree Menu tab for assigning permissions.
- Under Permissions section, click Main Tree Menu tab.

- On the left-pane, click an appropriate managed computers/Roaming Users, and then under Configure column, select an appropriate menu check box, for which you want to assign permission.
- Click the Save button. The role gets added to the user roles table.
