The system lost Internet connectivity after eScan installation & eScan trying to download update via proxy

Observation:

The internet connectivity problem probably could be due to the malware which would have changed the browser settings to a proxy connection. eScan uses the internet settings from the default browser and hence it was trying to download updates via proxy.

Resolution:

  1. Fixing the IE settings resolved both the reported issues.
  1. For cleaning the malware if updates are not available, you can download the cumulative updates in portable executable form so that the updates/definitions could be updated on the infected system. Then begin scanning of the entire system. (Click here to go to the Updates download link).
