When I logon to the system,the system does not startup. The system hangs while login.
Solution :
The problem might be with explorer.exe not running when windows get started.
Please check the following: 1. Check if explorer.exe is present in c:\Windows folder.
2. Start the Windows registry. (you can refer to FAQ - How to start the windows registry editor?)
Go to
HKLM\Software\MicroSoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
On right side pane check for entry and should be present:
shell = explorer.exe
If it is not present Windows will not get loaded.
Note: you can check these by using a Bootable cd such as BARTPE/ERD Commander, if you are not able to check normally with windows.
