The system lost Internet connectivity after eScan installation & eScan trying to download update via proxy
Observation:
The internet connectivity problem probably could be due to the malware which would have changed the browser settings to a proxy connection. eScan uses the internet settings from the default browser and hence it was trying to download updates via proxy.
Solution:
- Fixing the IE settings resolved both the reported issues.
- For cleaning the malware if updates are not available, you can download the cumulative updates in portable executable form so that the updates/definitions could be updated on the infected system. Then begin scanning of the entire system. (Click here to go to the Updates download link).
