How do I block a web-site but allow the sub-link of the blocked web site (eScan Ver.9 & 10). For eg. http://www.bbc.co.uk to be blocked & allow site http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather ?
Solution:
Step 1
- Part ii: In eScan version 9
- Open the eScan Content Administrator
- Go to Webpage scanning
- Add the site to be blocked in the Websites_Allowed filter Category
for eg. add the site bbc.co.uk
- Part ii: In eScan version 10
- Open the eScan Protection Center
- Go to Web Protection Setting
- Add the site to be blocked in the Websites_Allowed filter Category
for eg. add the site bbc.co.uk
Step 2
- Open the Registry (To open the registry click on Start and Run and type regedit and click on OK)
- Go to HKLM\Software\MicroWorld\ContentFiltering
- On right hand side create the below entry
PagesAllowedComm (Reg_SZ) Value - (add the sub-links)
for eg. bbc.co.uk/weather
With this setting the website http://www.bbc.co.uk will be blocked and website http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather will be allowed to be accessed.
NOTE: Apply the latest eScan Hotfix before making the above settings. (Click here to go to the Hotfix download link).
